  • A vital player in all that Roll Tide Raleigh does and will have the opportunity to work on chapter growth!

    This position works closely with the President and Committee Chairs as needed. The VP is continually focused on chapter growth/outreach and will also work on passion projects such as special events, Welcome to Raleigh-Durham, young alumni, community service, social media, etc., as determined based on the holder’s interests.

    This position may attend Fall NAA and/or A-Day meetings in lieu of the chapter president.

    This person would have the option to attend the National Alumni Association annual training in July.

    It is preferred that the Vice President hold a degree from UA.

  • Get other new alumni engaged in Roll Tide Raleigh through communications, events, and personal interaction.

    Establish consistent and varied communication and offer young alumni focused events to reach the young alumni population in the Raleigh-Durham area. Connect with other local chapters, as well as the National Alumni Association, to brainstorm ideas to increase engagement and implement those trategies in our market. Increase membership and volunteerism of young alumni.

    This person would have the option to attend the National Alumni Association annual training in July.

    The ideal candidate would be a UA graduate from the classes of 2014–2023.

  • Help Roll Tide Raleigh coordinate the chapter message on social media platforms. The Social Media Assistant would primarily focus on Instagram (and potentially Threads). May occasionally be asked to assist on other platforms Facebook, Twitter and potential other new platforms.

    This position is ideal for a young alumni or current student.

  • Coordinate a Fall and Spring semester care package party for local Bama parents.

    The person in this role will restart a beloved tradition – student care packages!

    You will coordinate all aspects of the care package party from location, theme, sign-up genius for participants, box procurement. Work with Newsletter Editor and Executive Board to publicize event.

    This role would be a great fit for a current or alumni parent! How-to training will be provided.

  • We need photographers for events! You pick the events you'd like to attend.

    Showcase your passion for picture-taking at Roll Tide Raleigh events! This is a great way to contribute to the chapter and help showcase all that Roll Tide Raleigh does while fitting into any schedule.

  • Help plan chapter events, from big to small and everything in between, to meet our members needs and interests.

    The Events Coordinator is responsible for adding events to the chapter calendar to meet members interests and needs. We are working to establish an Events Team to help support this role.

    In past years a Bama Moms Brunch (Spring) and Ladies Event (late Summer) have been held. We are looking to expand the offerings to include a variety of events for all interests such as “day” outings at the Durham Bulls, Carolina Hurricanes, etc; joint events with Bama Charlotte, Welcome to Raleigh, networking mixers, holiday party, etc.

    Work with Executive Board and Newsletter Editor to promote events. Work with the National Alumni Association to bring special events, like Welcome to Raleigh, to the chapter.

    This person would have the option to attend the National Alumni Association annual training in July.

  • This member must be a UA graduate.

    Help select the 2024 recipient(s) of the Roll Tide Raleigh Scholarship for incoming Freshman.

    The Scholarship Committee is active in March of each Spring. The committee reviews scholarship applications from local students to select finalists for interview. The committee holds interviews, via Zoom, with select students to determine scholarship recipients. Scholarship committee members may, based on availability, attend Senior Awards to present scholarship(s) in person.

    This person would have the option to attend the National Alumni Association annual training in July.

  • Roll Tide Raleigh prides itself on providing watch parties for all SEC & Power 5 games, but that CANNOT happen without members serving on the Watch Party Team. Each game day we need four to five members to serve as the game’s watch party host. We would ask all watch party team members to volunteer for at least two games, but feel free to volunteer for all of them!

    Being a part of the Watch Party Team is really easy -- all it takes is a love of Crimson Tide football! Training & all supplies are provided. Roll Tide Raleigh, with the help of the National Alumni Association, will make sure the watch party team has everything they need to run the parties.

    The Watch Party Team will manage the game day experience of the chapter with designated Watch Party Team members arriving about an hour before kick-off to decorating the ables/hanging our banners, selling raffle tickets (usually sold up to half-time), greeting guests and tearing down the party after the game. A perk of hosting a watch party is that you get to choose a seat early!

Roll Tide Raleigh Officers & Committee Chairs

Jennifer Bartnik, President

Jennifer is a parent of a a former student (Class of 2021). She enjoys helping parents through the high school to Alabama transition and meeting with prospective student families to answer questions and talk about all things Bama! Jennifer runs the Roll Tide Raleigh Twitter account, organizes care package parties and other social events for the chapter, as well as writes the Bama Momma column in the private Facebook group (Roll Tide Raleigh - Alabama Alumni & Friends).

A life-long avid sports fan, there is no doubt that she loves The Tide! If she isn't at the game itself, she is easy to find at our watch parties, just look for all the game day buttons or the houndstooth lei!

Jennifer resides in Durham with her husband, Bryan. Her son Ben was an Honors College student and received a degree in Aerospace Engineering (2021) with a Mathematics minor. Additionally, he participated in the STEM to MBA program, was active in AIAA and Alabama Rocketry. He served as an Avanti from 2017 - 2018 and was a Mentor in the Honors College Living & Learning Community. She encourages parents and prospective parents to reach out to her on Twitter, through our local UA recruiter or via the Roll Tide Raleigh email.

 

Stacy Griffin, Immediate Past-President

Stacy is a 1989 graduate of the University of Alabama where she earned a BA in Communications. She attended the Capstone Summer Honors Program between her junior and senior years of high school and loved it. Once at Bama she was an Avanti and was a little sister for Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. She is originally from Florence, Alabama.

An avid football fan, Stacy enjoys being at the watch parties with serious Tide fans. She wants to see the chapter grow not only in their love for football but for the University itself.

Stacy works for the Town of Garner and in her off time sews dog bandanas and sells them in her Etsy shop. She has an avid Bama fan son, a daughter-in-law who tolerates their Bama craziness and two grandbabies that are already being brought up on Bama!

 

Michael Longobardo, Treasurer and Past-President (2013-2017)

Michael is a parent of a former student (2017). He served as President from September 2013 through April 2016. He was instrumental is the Chapter’s relaunch in October 2013. Under his leadership the chapter has grown from a core group of 8-10 people to over 100 members. The chapter was awarded the “Most Improved Chapter” by the National Alumni Association (NAA) for 2013-2014. Michael is an “Honorary UA Alumni” conferred by the NAA Executive Committee and the Executive Director.

Michael resides in Holly Springs with his wife Barbara and their Australian Labradoodle, Hudson. He has two grown children, Ryan and Lauren and three grandchildren (Eleanor, Harrison and Charlotte). His son Ryan is a graduate of Elon University and is a Director at Fidelity Charitble in RTP. His daughter Lauren graduated summa cum laude with a BS in Nursing from The University of Alabama. She is currently a stay at home mom in Austin, TX. She was formerly a PCICU Nurse at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas.

 

Jenna Zoghby, Membership Secretary

Jenna is a 2013 Alabama alum who graduated with a degree in Food and Nutrition, becoming a Registered Dietitian. During her time at The Capstone, she served as an SGA senator, advocating for positive change. She was also a member of the Chi Omega Sorority.

Originally from Mobile and Birmingham, Alabama, she embraced a new adventure, moving to downtown Raleigh a year ago, and recently joined Roll Tide Raleigh as the Membership Secretary. She will be reaching out to members who are interested in helping support Roll Tide Raleigh in a volunteer capacity and leading the charge on our annual membership drive.

Currently, Jenna excels as the driving force behind a transformative sales training program at US Radiology Specialists. Her knack for managing the Salesforce CRM system underscores her adaptability and tech-savviness. She is also a big fan of stand-up Comedy.


 

Caitlin Hunnicutt, Webmaster and Newsletter Editor

Caitlin is a proud Tuscaloosa native and a 2x Alabama alum who moved to the Triangle in 2019. She graduated in 2013 with a BS in Marketing and in 2014 with an MS in Marketing. While at Alabama, she interned with the athletic marketing department for three years, worked at the Aquatic Center, and helped with football recruitment during the 2010 season. She grew up going to Alabama athletic events with her parents before she was even able to walk (dad Jay pictured). Caitlin is excited to join Roll Tide Raleigh, be more involved with growing the RTR chapter, and help keep the website up-to-date and members informed with the monthly newsletters.

Caitlin resides in Raleigh with her two cats (Amari) Cooper and Simba (Saban). She is currently the Director of Marketing and Client Experience at Meridian Financial. Prior to her current role, she spent 7 1/2 years working in college athletics marketing with time spent at Ohio State, Penn State, and NC State.
